In recent testing, the Federal Tactical handgun loads offered consistent superb performance in both bare and denim covered gelatin. These were clearly some of the best bullets we have tested and in my opinion, join the Winchester Ranger Talon and Speer Gold Dot among the top handgun bullet designs for lethal force encounters. Ideally, Federal would heavily promote the Tactical bullets, while dropping the Hydrashock line, which offers poor terminal performance. None of the Federal Classic loads appear to expand during denim testing and are not adequate choices for law enforcement use.
